Project Description

Kenilworth Scouts

Welcome to the county’s cosiest District.  Placed in the centre of Warwickshire we are the jewel in the crown, being the smallest District in terms of both geographical size and numbers, but as they say size isn’t everything.

Kenilworth is a “Town” District with five of our six Groups being located within the urban boundary and our sixth being in the nearby village of Leek Wotton. The Groups are spread around the town, two of the Groups are sponsored by churches in Kenilworth, and two Groups meet in our Scout and Guide Centre at Castle Farm.

We have two thriving Explorer Units catering for over 70 Explorers, a small but growing Network Section and a Scouting Active Support Group.  The District holds a number of events for the sections throughout the year, including camps and activities, which all bring the District together.  The District also supports the County in the running of their events.

As Kenilworth is a small town many of our young people attend the same schools and so there are many friendships across Groups.  The District is going through a period of change, with a proposed new Scout and Guide Headquarters at Castle Farm, a new team DC and an expansion of Kenilworth itself that will happen in the next 5-10 years.

Our team DC are Douglas Faulconbridge, Richard Staveley and Stuart Heaton who between them have over 100 years of Scouting experience.

As a District we work closely with our Guiding colleagues in many areas and share the Headquarters facility at Castle Farm.
