Several Groups have opened new sections to meet the demand for youngsters and further are planned. It is only by recruiting volunteers that we are able to continue expanding. We are recruiting Leaders, Assistants and adults who can offer their time on a flexible basis.

District Events

As well as the full and detailed programmes in every section in the Groups Stratford on Avon District have several regular events. These include:

  • Stratford Scout Week in spring 2019 aimed at recruiting new leaders for Groups and District. In 2019 the week recruited 30 new volunteers and 50% of them signed up and are helping in Groups. It will be held once again in May 2020
  • Pig Roast at the Stratford Mop on 12th October each year. This is a tradition: each year the first slice of pork is auctioned and normally purchased by the Mayor of Stratford. Members from each Group and every section man the stall giving them the opportunity to meet and serve the public.
  • Stratford is an active district within the Warwickshire county and is always seen attending county events, from Get In to Cubs Together!
