We have transformed volunteering
Transformation has happened!
You should have received an email from Scout HQ inviting you to log in to the new digital system for the first time and set a password.
This marks a significant milestone in our transformation journey to deliver a warmer welcome, improved learning, and team-based volunteering.
The new system will be the hub for managing all your learning, including Safety, Safeguarding and more. Take the time to explore and get comfortable with it as this change is designed to make administration easier, enabling us to focus on creating more opportunities for young people to enjoy Scouting.
Key Points to Note:
- Data and Records:
- When you log in for the first time, your records should be correct. However, with over 3000 volunteers and 4000 roles across Warwickshire, there may be a few discrepancies due to the data migration. If something isn’t right, please let us know, and we will resolve it as quickly as possible.
- Providing you with support
- There is lots of information on the Scouts HQ website – https://www.scouts.org.uk/volunteers/volunteer-experience/digital-tool-guides/
- If you need any help, we have a local support team who can be contacted via transformation@warwickshirescouts.org.uk, or speak to your Group or District Lead Volunteer.
- If we cannot resolve it locally, we’ll escalate it to HQ.
- Updated Policy and Guidance:
- The Policy, Organisation, and Rules (POR) have been updated to reflect the new processes, roles, and system. Please review the latest version at https://scouts.org.uk/por to ensure you are up to date.
What else do I need to do?
All about Transformation
Since 2018, we’ve spoken to more than 10,000 people inside and outside of our movement. People told us we need to be more welcoming and make volunteering feel positive, so it’s not like more work. We need our learning to be engaging and create useful digital tools to help get things done.
Currently, volunteering at Scouts doesn’t always suit how people want to volunteer. They want to volunteer flexibly, by committing the time they have and being part of a team.
We believe by addressing these issues it will help us to:
- Recruit more volunteers and retain current ones
- Make volunteering at Scouts feel rewarding for everyone
- Consistently and safely deliver a better programme
- Make sure that more young people are gaining skills for life
What are we doing
We’re transforming volunteering at Scouts to make it easier, more enjoyable and rewarding. We’ll be rolling out changes in phases to help us:
- Give a warmer welcome for everyone
- Deliver better learning
- Simplify how we volunteer together
All of which needs to be supported by easy-to-use digital tools.
