Belize 2024
Warwickshire Scouts are taking Explorers and Network to Belize, leaving in July 2024. Read on to find out how you can get involved in this amazing international experience!
About the trip
As a response to Warwickshire’s demand for international Scouting experiences, the county is running a trip to Belize. Belize is a country in Central America bordering onto the Caribbean Sea. This will be for Explorers and Network ages, who want to visit somewhere new, try a different culture, challenge themselves and learn new skills along the way.
The trip will be leaving in late July, and be 10-14 days in length. Our target window for travel is not leaving before 20th July, which is after Schools break up for the summer.
We have spoken to the Belize Scout President – he is excited that we are coming to visit! We will be working closely with the Scouts of Belize on this adventure; they look forward to supporting the programme which could include time in the rainforest, visiting reefs, going to historic sites!
There would be a separate programme for Scout Network and Explorer Scouts. The Network members would be expected to be largely self-organising with minimal support from the Leadership Team. We will be looking for leadership from within the Network members.

Training weekends
Coming from all across Warwickshire, it is important that everyone on the trip gets to know each other and learns to work as a team before we depart. We are therefore running some mandatory pre-trip events which are an important part of the experience – they will be used for team building and to shape the exciting details of the itinerary. The dates for these events are below.
