The Caribbean

In 2015 Explorers from across Warwickshire travelled to the Caribbean. They volunteered and made many new friends. In 2017, the Caribbean Scouts came to  visit Warwickshire. 

Kandersteg

Kandersteg International Scout Centre, founded by Lord Baden-Powell in 1923, is the World Centre of the World Organisation of the Scout Movement.

Set in the Swiss Alps, popular activities include hiking, the toboggan run, trips to the chocolate and cheese factories and the international camp fire. A favourite destination every year for Warks Scouts. Recent visitors include Stratford upon Avon, Alcester and Rugby Scouts.

Belgium War Fields

Travelling to Ypres to visit the Belgium war fields and  cemeteries and laying wreaths at the Menin Gate has given West Warks Explorers and Nuneaton Scouts & Explorers a new perspective on World War 1 history.

Rugby Cubs go to Poland

When a cub joined 16th Rugby having been a Sea Scout in Poland, the idea of a camp in Poland soon gathered momentum especially when the Polish Group came over for Cubs 100

Staying in Zakopane near the Tatra Mountains, the cubs took part in lots of outdoor activities with the Polish Cubs and visited the Salt Mines at Krakow. They also got friendly with some Italian Scouts!

The Magic of Disney

Newbold on Stour Cubs headed to Paris during October half term. 

Sightseeing included Notre Dame and a river cruise on the Seine. The Eiffel Tower was the backdrop for a memorable moving up ceremony for 5 of the cubs. At Disneyland, the rides were amazing and meeting Mickey was magical!

1st Wilmcote and Nuneaton have also ventured across the channel with  trips to Paris organised by PGL

Haarlem Jamborette

For 1st Southam going to the Haarlem Jamborette has become a regular fixture every 4 years. In 2019 Water Orton Scouts went too!

Danish Jamboree

1st Stratford Scouts and Central Leamington Explorers enjoyed a jamboree experience in Denmark with 40,000 mainly European Scouts and Guides in 2017. Known as Spejdernes Lejr, the Danish Jamboree will return in 2022. Check it out here https://spejderneslejr.dk/en
